Dr. Joanna Fisher’s Experience

Dr. Joanna Fisher earned her medical degree in 1982 from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where she completed a combined six-year Bachelor/Doctor of Medicine program through Lehigh University. She continued her training with a medical internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania, followed by a Residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Board Certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Fisher has been practicing medical and surgical eye care since 1986.

She completed a mini fellowship in LASIK surgery in 2000 and participated in a comprehensive training program on the Cynosure Elite Cosmetic Laser System in 2011.

During her off time, Dr. Fisher enjoys traveling with her husband, visiting her family and grandchildren, and devoting time to her many hobbies, which include biking, swimming, hiking, and cooking. She’s proud to work with the talented staff at Medical Optometry of America to build the future of eye health.
